2009 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the front speed sensor on 2009 Toyota Yaris?
A: Secure the front speed sensor to the steering knuckle using the bolt while applying a torque of 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf) and verify the speed sensor tip along with its installation area is free of any foreign particles and the sensor maintains its original angle. You should secure the shock absorber clamp in place using a bolt whose torque needs to be set at 29 Nm (300 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf) before adding a second bolt to attach the clamp to the body at 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf). Secure the three clips followed by connecting the speed sensor connector before fitting the speed sensor clip onto the body. To install the front fender liner require three screws combined with six clips and four grommets while making sure the speed sensor wire remains inside the liner. The front wheel needs to be tightened to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf) and the cable needs to be reconnected to the negative battery terminal at 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf). Conduct a review of the ABS sensor signal as the last step.
