2010 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the front speed sensor on 2010 Toyota Yaris?
A: Begin front speed sensor installation by connecting it to the steering knuckle with the bolt under the following conditions: first clean the speed sensor tip and installation area of foreign matter then ensure the installation matches the original angle before tightening the bolt to 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf). The shock absorber clamp requires a 29 Nm (300 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf) bolt torque before installing a 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf) bolt into the body. The installation process requires attachment of three clips with connector connection to the body while securing the speed sensor clip to its designated location. Three screws, six clips along with four grommets need to be installed into the front fender liner where the speed sensor wire must stay within the liner area. Fasten the front wheel at 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf) while attaching the black lead wire to the negative battery terminal at 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf). An inspection of the VSC sensor signal with the ABS sensor signal should also be performed if necessary.
