2009 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove the exterior Emblem for the sedan on 2009 Toyota Yaris?
A: The first step to remove the exterior name plate from the sedan includes disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal (w/ Fog Light). Sanitize the front spoiler cover (w/ Small Front Spoiler) before removing it while you secure the front bumper cover using protective tape according to the illustration. Replace the front spoiler screws and bolts with 5 and 3 pieces but also take off the screw grommets and 6 clips or remove 7 screws, 3 bolts, the 2 screw grommets together with the 6 clips based on the front spoiler accessory. The front bumper process differs between vehicles equipped with fog lights or not. Those with fog lights require removal of the front bumper cover after disconnecting its 2 connectors but models without fog lights need to only separate the 6 claws from the cover. The radiator grille emblem requires remove when all four claws have been disconnected. To safely remove the No. 6 luggage compartment door name plate use an infrared light to heat it to 40-60 degrees Celsius (104-140 degrees Fahrenheit) for one to two minutes before peeling off the name plate with a gasket scraper which you should cover its tip with protective tape. Apply protective tape then heat the No. 2 luggage compartment door name plate and symbol emblem before using the gasket scraper to peel off the components during which time avoid getting burned by heated parts and infrared light.
