2010 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove the exterior Emblem for the hatchback on 2010 Toyota Yaris?
A: You must disconnect the battery cable from its terminal position (w/ Fog Light). The first step requires protective tape before moving on to unscrew 8 screws and remove 2 screw grommets and 7 clips from the front bumper cover. Usage of a screwdriver with taped tip enables disconnecting 6 claws and 2 fog light connectors to separate the front bumper. Passenger vehicles without fog lights require only the removal of the front bumper after disengaging the 6 claws. The next step requires removing the radiator grille emblem by disengaging four claws followed by removing the radiator grille name plate retainer (for Sport Package) through two screws. The No. 2 radiator grille emblem can be removed (for Sport Package) after separating two of the present claws. A gasket scraper with protective tape on its tip should be used to peel off the adhesive surface of the symbol emblem after applying protective tape and heating the back door panel with an infrared light to 40 to 60 degrees Celsius (104 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) for 1 to 2 minutes. The removal process must be repeated for both the No. 1 and the No. 2 luggage compartment doors with protective tape application followed by infrared heat treatment before using the gasket scraper to remove the name plates while being conscious of the heated surfaces.
