2008 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove the exterior Emblem for the hatchback on 2008 Toyota Yaris?
A: Remove the exterior name plate for the hatchback by performing these steps first disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal (while also keeping fog light connected). First protect the area with tape before starting the removal process of the front bumper cover where you will need to take out 8 screws along with both screw grommets and seven clips. Install protective tape on the screwdriver tip before using it to release 6 claws from the fog lights then disconnect the connectors before taking off the front bumper. You should take off the front bumper by unfastening the 6 claws when your vehicle lacks fog lights. Unscrew the radiator grille emblem through the removal of four attachment claws. You can remove the No. 2 radiator grille emblem by first taking out 2 screws that hold the name plate retainer then releasing the 2 claws connected to it on the sport package. A successful symbol emblem removal occurs when you apply protective tape to the emblem area on the back door, heat it under an infrared light at 40 to 60 degrees Celsius (104 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) for one to two minutes before using a gasket scraper with protected tip to peel off the adhesive surface. The protective tape should be removed from the emblem after you take it off. The procedure should repeat for the No. 1 and No. 2 luggage compartment door name plates by applying protective tape on them followed by infrared heating and scraping off using a gasket scraper before tape removal.
