2008 Toyota Yaris Emblem Parts Q&A
Q: How to remove the exterior Emblem for the sedan on 2008 Toyota Yaris?
A: The first step to remove the exterior name plate on the sedan begins with negative battery terminal cable disconnection (w/ fog light) followed by front spoiler cover and front bumper cover removal. First detach the front spoiler cover (w/ Front Spoiler) after which you should take off the front bumper cover. You need protective tape when removing 5 screws and 3 bolts along with 2 screw grommets and 6 clips from the front spoiler. Models without front spoilers need you to remove seven screws and three bolts and two screw grommets along with six clips. Models with front fog lights need users to detach both 2 fog light connectors after removing 6 claws and taking off the front bumper cover. The front bumper cover can be taken off from models without fog lights by loosening 6 claws. The radiator grille emblem can be removed after you disassemble the four securing claws. The exclusion of the No. 6 luggage compartment door name plate requires protective tape and a heat treatment with an infrared light set at 40 to 60 degrees Celsius (104 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) for 1 to 2 minutes followed by scraping it off with a gasket scraper that has protective tape on its tip before tape removal. The process should be repeated on No. 2 luggage compartment door name plate and symbol emblem after tape application followed by infrared light heating and careful removal with a gasket scraper during which the user must prevent surface burns.
