2007 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the Emblem for the hatchback on 2007 Toyota Yaris?
A: Service and repair of the hatchback name plate begins with disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable (w/ Fog Light) before removing the front bumper cover through protective tape usage followed by screw removal of 8 pieces and 2 screw grommets and 7 clips followed by claw disengagement of 6 pieces and 2 fog light connector (if required) disconnections. Service of the hatchback name plate begins with removing the radiator grille emblem through 4 claw disconnection then moving on to remove the radiator grille name plate retainer (for Sport Package) through 2 screws before completing the link removal by disengaging 2 claws from the No. 2 radiator grille emblem. The installation process for the symbol emblem begins with the application of protective tape before using infrared heat therapy (40 to 60 degrees Celsius at 1 to 2 minutes) and finally removing the emblem with a gasket scraper. An infrared light set to 40 to 60 °C should heat the surface for 1 to 2 minutes before using a gasket scraper for removal. Ensure that you apply the same technique to install the name labels on the No. 1 and No. 2 luggage doors after cleaning their base surfaces and taking out any existing double-sided adhesive tape. The new name plates should be installed only when the ambient temperature reaches at least 20 degrees Celsius or higher. Apply heat to the surfaces when air temperature falls below 20 degrees Celsius. Install the symbol emblem by fitting it to the 2 bosses then position the radiator grille emblem using its claw system until secure before fastening the radiator grille name plate retainer with 2 screws. To complete the reinstallation, involve fog light connector placement when needed followed by claw engagement and clip and grommet installation before screw tightening along with protective tape removal prior to connecting the ground cable to the negative terminal using 5.4 N.m torque (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf).
