2009 Toyota Venza Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove the Clock Spring Assembly / Spiral Cable on 2009 Toyota Venza?
A: You should read the entire warning information before starting to remove the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring. The front wheels need to face straight forward while the technician should disconnect the negative battery cable followed by a minimum 90-second wait until the SRS system will disable. The system initialization might be needed for specific systems after reconnecting the cable. Begin your removal of Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring by removing the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover then moving to lower No. 2 followed by the steering pad. The first step is to detach the steering wheel assembly then proceed with removal of lower and upper steering column covers. The last step involves cable removal of the clock spring assembly synchronously with the sensor sub-unit only when the ignition switch displays an off position and the battery power remains cut off. Complete the removal by disconnecting connectors from the clock spring with sensor sub-assembly while avoiding any harm to the Air Bag wire harness and dislodging the 3 clamps.
