2009 Toyota Tundra Oxygen Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the oxygen sensor on 2009 Toyota Tundra?
A: The first step to remove the oxygen sensor includes disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable then allowing the navigation system to record its information and settings during a 90-second waiting period after turning off the ignition. When working on the Regular Cab Standard Deck remove the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly through 4 bolt and 2 nut removal before disconnecting the exhaust pipe from its support to take out 2 gaskets. The front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly removal for this model starts with disconnecting the air fuel ratio sensor connector and the heated oxygen sensor connector then continuing with uninstalling 3 nuts and the exhaust pipe alongside a gasket. For vehicles that are not Regular Cab Standard Decks one must disconnect the same connectors before removing 3 nuts along with 2 bolts, the exhaust pipe, and gasket. The front exhaust pipe assembly can be taken out through disconnecting the air fuel ratio sensor connector and heated oxygen sensor connector and clamps removal followed by bolt and nut removal and exhaustion of the pipe and gaskets. Terminal the air fuel ratio sensors for Bank 1 Sensor 1 together with Bank 2 Sensor 1 using Special Service Tool: 09224-00010.
