2009 Toyota Tundra Knock Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the knock sensor on 2009 Toyota Tundra?
A: The first step to maintain the knock sensor on 1GR-FE engines involves removing the entire engine assembly before proceeding. Proceed by removing the right-hand side cylinder head sub-assembly which belongs to Bank 1. The No. 1 water outlet pipe removal requires detachment of 4 wire harness clamps before removing the bolt and 2 nuts along with the water outlet pipe. The repair ends with removing the 2 sensors by detaching their connectors and both bolts.
