How to service and repair the knock sensor on 2008 Toyota Tundra?

You need to take off the entire engine to work on the knock sensor for the 1GR-FE controls. Begin by removing the cylinder head sub-assembly from the right-hand side of Bank 1. Unscrew the 3 bolts and detach the 4 wire clamps from the No. 1 water outlet pipe. After disconnecting sensor wires you can easily remove both sensors by first removing their retaining bolts.
