2009 Toyota Matrix Speed Sensor Parts Q&A
Q: How to remove the front speed sensor on 2009 Toyota Matrix?
A: The removal process of the front speed sensor starts by disconnecting the negative battery cable followed by taking off the front wheel. The first step for removing the front fender liner is to proceed. The procedure starts by disconnecting the front speed sensor connector before removing the front speed sensor wire harness clamp from the body. It concludes with bolt removal and detachment of the No. 2 sensor clamp from the body. The procedure continues with bolt removal and separating the brake flexible hose then extracting the No. 1 sensor clamp from the shock absorber and the clamp as well. The installation hole along with the contact surface for the speed sensor need cleaning whenever you remove the front speed sensor and the bolt. Also remove the front speed sensor carefully to prevent foreign matter from attaching itself to the sensor tip. You must replace the front drive shaft assembly together with the sensor rotor when it requires assistance.
