The installation of the park/neutral position switch assembly for U250E automatic transaxle begins with attaching the switch to the manual valve shaft before securing the 2 bolts. Fasten a new lock plate followed by nut torqueing to 6.9 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 61 in-lbf). The control shaft lever needs temporary installation with a counterclockwise rotation until it reaches the end point followed by clockwise rotation of two notches before removal. Place the groove against the neutral basic line while keeping the switch in position and torque the 2 bolts to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf). Screwdriver-stake the nut which secures the lock plate before installing the control shaft lever alongside washer and nut with 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf) torque setting. Connect the connector for the park/neutral position switch. The new transmission control cable requires connection to its bracket with a new clip before attaching the cable assembly to the control shaft lever through a nut which demands torquing to 15 Nm (150 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf). Attach the battery and fasten the connecting cable to the negative terminal by torquing it to 6.9 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 61 in-lbf).
