One should start the removal procedure of the Transmission Position Switch/Sensor by disconnecting the negative cable terminal from the battery while also taking note of systems that might need post-reconnection initialization. Users must start by taking off the engine under cover on right and left sides then address the air cleaner inlet assembly. To disconnect the transmission control cable assembly separate the control shaft lever nut first followed by using a screwdriver to unlock the 2 clutch mechanism claws which enables cable assembly removal from the control cable bracket; taping the screwdriver tip helps during the process. The shift lever position sensor connector needs to be removed after taking out the clip. Release the connector followed by removing the nut and washer and control shaft lever. A screwdriver can be used to pry the tabs of the lock plate before removing the lock nut and plate. Finish the procedure by removing the 2 bolts followed by the shift lever position sensor removal.
