How to remove the parking brake cable on 2009 Scion xD?

In order to take off the parking brake cable, you must take off the shift lever knob and upper console panel first. Next, strip out rear wheel, brake drum and brake shoe kit. Then remove the floor heat insulator and vent case. Lastly, unscrew the looseness of the wire adjusting nut and unconnect the cable ends.
