Rear Cable

First attach the parking brake cable to the backing plate with the bolt while maintaining 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf) torque. First clamp B onto the rear axle beam and properly secure it; when keeping the parking brake cable assembly substitute cable clamp B with a new part. Secure the 4 bolts by tightening them to 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf). The parking brake cable needs installation through new cable clamp A before its setup onto the stud bolt while verifying that all connections remain secure. The cable ends of the parking brake cable need to be fastened onto the parking brake pull rod. After installing the right-hand side fuel tank cover vent case sub-assembly the installer should place the front No. 4 floor heat insulator. The installation of the rear brake shoe kit followed by a rear drum brake installation inspection should be performed. After that proceed to install the rear brake drum sub-assembly followed by adjustment of the rear drum brake shoe clearance. You should torque the rear wheel to 103 Nm which equals 1050 kgf-cm or 76 ft-lbf. Test and readjust the park brake lever movement if needed. As a final step install the rear console box sub-assembly and then add the console box carpet and finally place the rear console box cover before ending with the upper console panel and shift lever knob sub-assembly for manual transaxle use.

Remove the rear wheel and the rear brake drum sub-assembly.

Install the front No. 4 floor heat insulator.

First, attach the parking brake cable onto the backing plate using the bolt, ensuring a torque of 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf).
