The procedure for parking brake cable removal starts with unattaching the manual transaxle shift lever knob sub-assembly followed by the upper console panel and the rear console box cover and console box carpet and rear console box sub-assembly. Proceed by taking away the rear wheel and all components of the rear brake drum sub-assembly before extracting the rear brake shoe kit itself. First remove the front No. 4 floor heat insulator alongside the fuel tank cover vent case sub-assembly from the right-hand side. Unwind the No. 1 wire adjusting nut by loosening both the locking element and wire adjusting element. Cable ends of the parking brake cable need to be disconnected from the parking brake pull rod before removing cable clamp A from the stud bolt and taking out four bolts for breaking cable clamp B to extract the parking brake cable from the backing plate.
