2008 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the rear speed sensor on 2008 Toyota Tundra?
A: You must first route the skid control wire by tightening nut A to 9 ft-lbf (127 kgf-cm, 13 Nm). Make sure the clamp rotation stopper has contact with its installation place. Securely affix the sensor clamp with the bolt (labeled B) by torquing it to the same specification but avoid wire harness twisting while inserting 7 clips (labeled C) that should be placed correctly as per the illustration. Connect the sensor connector at position (D) properly. Secure the rear speed sensor LH by installing its speed sensor (identified as A) together with the nut (identified as B) to an 11 Nm torque (107 kgf-cm, 8 ft-lbf). After doing so connect the speed sensor connector (designated as C). Implement the same connection procedure along with the torque specifications for the rear speed sensor RH. During rear wheel installation you should tighten aluminum wheels to 131 Nm and steel wheels to 209 Nm. The diagnostic procedure includes checking speed sensor signals after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal while acknowledging that certain systems necessitate system initialization.
