2009 Toyota Tundra Speed Sensor Parts Q&A
Q: How to install the rear speed sensor on 2009 Toyota Tundra?
A: Begin installing the rear speed sensor by connecting the skid control sensor wire through these steps: Attach the sensor clamp using nut A while tightening it to 13 Nm (127 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf) until the clamp's rotation stopper reaches the installation position and then install bolt B at the same torque. Finally, fasten 7 clips C into place as shown in the illustration before securely connecting component D. Start by fixing the sensor clamp with bolt B at the same torque and maintain harness wire straightness before putting in the seven elements labeled C according to the provided diagram. Securely connect the sensor connector which bears letter D. The rear speed sensor LH requires installation of the speed sensor A accompanied by nut B at 11 Nm (107 kgf-cm, 8 ft-lbf) torque before attaching connector C securely. Apply the same torque standards to attach the rear speed sensor RH. Before attaching the rear wheel professionals must tighten aluminum wheels at 131 Nm (1336 kgf-cm, 97 ft-lbf) and steel wheels must achieve 209 Nm (2131 kgf-cm, 154 ft-lbf). After reattaching the negative battery cable some systems need to be initialized through a reconnection process while testing and inspecting the speed sensor signal.
