2008 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the front Brake Line on 2008 Toyota Tundra?
A: First begin front brake flexible hose installation by inserting the 2 clips (A) onto the hose body. Attach the flexible hose to both brake tube and wheel cylinder tube with a developed union nut wrench while holding it steady with another wrench. Torque without a union nut wrench must reach 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf) but 14 Nm (145 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf) should be applied when using a union nut wrench. When connecting the brake tube and wheel cylinder tube secure the points against any foreign materials such as dust or dirt and prevent tube damage through bending. The torque wrench needs a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.) for proper usage and the torque amount becomes most effective when the union nut wrench maintains a parallel position to the torque wrench. The procedure requires filling brake fluid in the reservoir followed by bleeding air from the brake master cylinder then the brake line before focusing on bleeding air from the VSC actuator assembly. End by inspecting the brake reservoir level and checking if any fluid leaks appear on the system. Complete the installation by placing the front wheel then tighten it to 131 Nm (1336 kgf-cm, 97 ft-lbf) for aluminum and 209 Nm (2131 kgf-cm, 154 ft-lbf) for steel.
