2007 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the rear speed sensor on 2007 Toyota Tundra?
A: The rear speed sensor maintenance or repair process starts with cable removal from the negative battery terminal followed by waiting ninety seconds after ignition switch deactivation for navigation system memory and setting retention. The rear speed sensor LH service process starts with wheel removal and then continues to the sensor connector disconnection (labeled A) before taking out the nut (B) and the sensor (C). Carry out the same installation steps for the rear speed sensor on the right-hand side. To remove the skid control sensor wire begin by disconnecting its connector (labeled A), then unclip seven brackets (labeled B) followed by removing a bolt (Labeled C) before taking out the nut (Labeled D) and wire harness. The first step for installation begins with connecting the skid control sensor wire then tightening the sensor clamp with the nut (A) to 13 N.m (127 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf) while making sure the clamp rotation stopper matches the installation position before securing it with bolt B while protecting the wire harness from twisting. Placing the seven labeled C clips so they fit securely before you connect to the sensor connector marked D. To install the rear speed sensor LH you must use the speed sensor labeled A with nut B at torque of 11 N.m (107 kgf. cm, 8 ft.lbf) and connect the speed sensor connector labeled C firmly. Perform this operation again with the rear speed sensor RH. Replace the rear wheel while torquing aluminum wheels to 131 N.m and steel wheels to 209 N.m before reconnecting the negative battery cable. Last step involves reattaching the negative battery cable after checking if system initialization is required along with verifying speed sensor signals.
