2007 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the rear Brake Line on 2007 Toyota Tundra?
A: You should begin service of the rear brake flexible hose by taking off the rear wheel followed by draining the brake fluid under proper fluid removal protocol until any fluid spill on painted areas gets quickly cleaned. Use Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to separate the brake tube from the flexible hose on the LH side but prevent any brake tube deformation while using a wrench to protect the tube from external elements. The flexible hose must be separated from the disc brake cylinder by first removing its clip together with its union bolt then its gasket. To install the new flexible hose with gasket you should apply the union bolt to the disc brake cylinder at 30 N m (306 kgf cm, 22 ft. lbf) torque while ensuring the hose lock remains tightly secured. Use Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to fasten the flexible hose connection after setting it into place with a wrench while torquing to 14 N m (145 kgf cm, 10 ft. lbf) with the tool or 15 N m (155 kgf cm, 11 ft. lbf) without tool assistance, all the while taking care to avoid braking tube damage. The final steps involve filling the reservoir with brake fluid then removing air from the brake master cylinder and brake line, VSC actuator assembly and checking the fluid level before wheel installation and torqueing to 131 N m for aluminum wheels or 209 N m for steel wheels.
