Toyota Tundra Brake Line Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the rear Brake Line on Toyota Tundra?
A: Install the rear brake flexible hose by first attaching it and its new gasket to the disc brake cylinder using the union bolt until its torque reaches 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf). Secure the flexible hose within the lock hole of the cylinder followed by connecting it to the brake tube with a fresh clip. Use the union nut wrench to join the flexible hose with the brake tube then secure the flexible hose using a wrench before tightening at 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf) torque while avoiding brake tube damage and blocking any foreign matter from the connection spot. A torque wrench with a 300 mm (11.8 in.) fulcrum length should be used to reach accurate torque values when the union wrench remains parallel to the torque wrench body. Post-installation procedures include filling the brake fluid into the reservoir followed by bleaching air from the Brake Master Cylinder and brake line together with VSC actuator assembly and safely checking the brake fluid levels while inspecting for fluid leaks. Seal the wheel into its proper place by securing aluminum wheels with 131 Nm (1336 kgf-cm, 97 ft-lbf) torque and steel wheels with 209 Nm (2131 kgf-cm, 154 ft-lbf) torque.
