    A: Before handling the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring you must first disconnect the negative battery terminal cable for 90 seconds to disable the SRS system. Direct the front wheels to their normal straight position. The technician must first remove the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover prior to removing the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover and then the steering pad. You must first take away the steering wheel assembly and then remove the lower steering column cover and subsequently the upper steering column cover. Separate all connectors from the clock spring while removing it before you manage the Air Bag connector to prevent damage to the Air Bag wire harness. To finish the process remove the clock spring with steering sensor by first detaching the 3 claws then detaching the 6 claws.
