2008 Toyota Prius Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the PCV Valve on 2008 Toyota Prius?
A: The first step to service and repair the Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve for the 1NZ-FXE emission control system consists of removing the rear No. 2 floor board and following it with removing the rear floor deck box and then the rear No. 3 floor board. You must disconnect the negative battery cable and keep waiting for at least 90 seconds to stop the activation of Air Bags and seat belt pretensioners. Begin by removing the engine room No. 2 relay block through the removal of its 2 bolts and the block itself as well as disconnecting all 4 wire harness clamps. Start by unlacing the clamp while taking out the No. 1 air cleaner inlet from the air cleaner case then disconnect the mass air flow meter connector before removing the wire harness clamp. Unclamp the two fasteners while disengaging two bolts before extracting the air cleaner assembly. You should disconnect both the fuel injector connector and ignition coil connector then remove the 3 bolts alongside the wire harness clamp. The maintenance ends by separating the brake master cylinder reservoir cover and removing the ventilation valve together with the disconnected ventilation hose.
