2008 Toyota Prius Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Canister Purge Valve on 2008 Toyota Prius?
A: Start Canister Purge Valve installation by properly bolting the pressure switching valve where its torque needs to be set at 2.9 Nm (30 kgf-cm, 26 in-lbf). First attach the canister hoses to the pressure switching valve and install the valve before connecting it into position. Proceed to link the cable on the negative terminal of the battery. The installer should start by fitting the rear No. 3 floor board before moving on to the rear deck floor box and completing with the rear No. 2 floor board. Last step is initialization since some systems need this procedure after connecting and disconnecting the cable at the negative (-) battery terminal.
