2009 Toyota Prius Canister Purge Valve Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Install the Canister Purge Valve on 2009 Toyota Prius?
A: Start your installation of the Canister Purge Valve by mounting the purge VSV using a bolt while torquing it to 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf). The two purge line hoses must be connected to the purge VSV before adding the purge VSV connector. The next step requires installation of the cable to the negative terminal of the battery. The installation begins with the rear No. 3 floor board then follows with the rear deck floor box and ends with the rear No. 2 floor board. Initiation is necessary for select systems which demand this procedure when working with the negative (-) battery terminal cable.
