2007 Toyota Prius Canister Purge Valve Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Canister Purge Valve on 2007 Toyota Prius?
A: Start repair and servicing of the Canister Purge Valve by taking out the rear No. 2 floor board and rear deck floor box and the rear No. 3 floor board. Before reattaching the negative cable the consumer should disconnect it and wait at least 90 seconds to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. Start the purge VSV removal process by detaching its connector and removing the two purge line hoses followed by unfastening the bolt which secures the purge VSV. The installation process requires use of a bolt to secure the purge VSV with 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf) torque and then reattaching the total purge line hoses and purge VSV connector. After the negative battery terminal cable reconnection you must return the rear No. 3 floor board followed by installing the rear deck floor box and finally adding the rear No. 2 floor board. The process of initialization becomes necessary for specific systems after disconnecting then reconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal.
