    A: The service and repair process for the Evaporative Emission Control Canister starts by removing the rear No. 2 floor board and deck floor box and No. 3 floor board followed by negative battery terminal cable removal and at least 90-second wait to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The service starts by removing the lower center instrument panel finish panel and rear seat cushion assembly with a clip remover tool to detach the clip and fold back the front floor carpet while disconnecting the heated oxygen sensor connector to achieve access to remove the grommet with bolts and compression springs and front exhaust pipe. Detach the fuel tank sub-assembly and its canister through the removal of pressure switching valve connector while removing clamps and wire harness clamp then disconnecting the canister hoses before unthreading the bolt and nuts. Attach the canister by torquing bolt and nuts to 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf) then reattach canister hoses before applying clamps and pressure switching valve connector. When reinstalling the fuel tank sub-assembly and front exhaust pipe maintain 40.5 mm (1.594 in.) free length of the compression spring through vernier caliper measurement then tap a new gasket until exhaust manifold flush without using old gasket material. The exhaust pipe supports need proper connection followed by spring installation and bolt tightening with 43 N.m (438 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) torque while reattaching the heated oxygen sensor. To complete the procedure, reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal and inspect for leaks and reattach the front floor panel brace, rear floor service hole cover, rear seat cushion assembly, lower center instrument panel finish panel, rear No. 3 floor board, rear deck floor box and rear No. 2 floor board before performing initialization which needs battery reconnection.
