The SERVICE DEPARTMENT of TOYOTA MOTOR SALES U.S.A. INC. must be contacted immediately if any abnormality appears while deploying the system. The disposal of front seat outer belt assemblies with pretensioners must never occur without the pretensioner deploying first and such operations should take place outdoors to prevent resident disturbance. When deploying the front seat outer belt keep at minimum 10 m distance and wear gloves and safety glasses for pretensioner handling. Hand washing with water must follow each operation and deployed pretensioners should never receive water application. Deploy pretensioners with the specified Special Service Tool called SRS Air Bag deployment tool which must be free from electrical disturbances. The functionality of Special Service Tools: 09082-00700 and 09082-00770 can be tested when the red clip connects to the positive (+) battery terminal while the black clip touches the negative (-) terminal leading to LED illumination with deployment switch activation. The tool should not be used when the LED lights without depressing the switch. Connect a pair of Special Service Tool: 09082-00700 to the front seat outer belt pretensioner while ensuring the wire harness and connector remain free from harm. Verify that the vehicle and a 10 meters wide area around it are empty then operate the pretensioner through the deployment switch by moving the tool at least 10 meters (33 feet) from the subject vehicle and closing all vehicle doors and windows first. Dispose of the front seat outer belt assembly and Special Service Tool immediately afterward placement into plastic wrapping followed by tight knotting thus requiring general parts disposal procedures. The deployed outer belt must remain untouched for 30 minutes before handling due to its high temperature while you should wear protective gloves together with safety glasses. Implementation of front seat pretensioner outer belts not found in vehicles requires following sufficient disposal procedures which should include wheel and tire covering during deployment.
