2007 Toyota Solara Wheel Bearing Parts Q&A
Q: How to service and repair the rear Wheel hub and Wheel Bearing on 2007 Toyota Solara?
A: Service and maintenance of the rear wheel hub along with the bearing requires initial removal of the rear wheel. The next step involves disconnecting the rear disc brake caliper assembly on the left-hand side through a bolt removal and flexible hose separation from the shock absorber before removing the two bolts to separate the caliper assembly. A piece of string and similar devices must be used to maintain the brake caliper's position without depending on the flexible hose. Disconnection of the skid control sensor requires removing the rear disc before separating the sensor connector. Next remove the left-hand side rear wheel hub and bearing assembly through the process of removing its four bolts. Put the hub and bearing assembly into place with its four bolts after which tighten them to 80 Nm (816 kgf-cm, 59 ft. lbs.). Attach the skid control sensor to its housing with caution while preventing sensor wire twisting. Look for improper bearing backlash along with hub deviation before installing the rear disc. The left-hand side rear disc brake caliper assembly should be mounted with both bolts tightened to 62 Nm (630 kgf-cm, 46 ft. lbs.) while the flexible hose rear bolt receives a torque of 19 Nm (192 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.). The rear wheel must be installed with a torque of 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.) after checking the ABS speed sensor and adjusting the rear wheel alignment.
