2007 Toyota RAV4 Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the windshield Washer Pump on 2007 Toyota RAV4?
A: Before servicing the windshield washer motor it is necessary to disconnect the cable from the negative terminal while waiting for at least 90 seconds to deactivate Air Bags and seat belt pretensioners. The washer inlet sub-assembly must be removed through the steps of unclipping and elevating the washer inlet above the windshield washer jar and pump. You must take off the front fender liner LH and RH together with the radiator support opening cover and front bumper cover. You should drain washer fluid through the windshield washer motor and pump assembly hoses before allowing it to settle into a container. Disconnect the connectors then remove the windshield washer jar assembly by taking out its three bolts. You should remove the windshield washer motor with pump assembly from its packing in the washer jar then extract the rear washer motor with pump assembly. Start by installing the rear washer motor and pump assembly inside the packing of the washer jar before positioning the windshield washer motor and pump assembly. Secure the windshield washer jar and pump through its 3 bolts while reconnecting all connectors. The washer jar and pump assembly needs to receive washing fluid through the connection between washer hoses and washer motor and pump. You should complete the installation by placing the front bumper cover with the radiator support opening cover while also attaching the front fender liner LH and RH and finally fastening the washer inlet sub-assembly to the windshield washer jar and pump through the clip and reconnecting battery cable to the negative point.
