2007 Toyota 4Runner Air Bag Sensor Parts Q&A
Q: How to service the Center Air Bag Sensor Assembly on 2007 Toyota 4Runner?
A: The first step for servicing the Center Air Bag Sensor Assembly requires reading all Restraint Systems Service Precautions carefully. Start by severing the cable connection at the negative terminal of the battery. Start the service by taking out the console upper rear panel sub-assembly, console panel sub-assembly upper, console upper panel garnish No.1, console upper panel garnish No.2, console box assembly rear, console box mounting bracket front and console box duct No.1. The 3 connectors must be detached from the center Air Bag sensor assembly before extracting it using its 3 bolts. Bring the procedure to a close only when the ignition switch points off and the battery negative terminal receives 90-second waiting time before the process starts. If you drop or see defects on the center Air Bag sensor assembly then replace it immediately before you install the assembly with the 3 attaching bolts. Adequate spacing must exist between the SRS wiring to prevent interference with other parts as well as to avoid pinching. The three bolts should be tightened to 17.5 N.m while inspecting the bolt segment for any signs of installation looseness. Affix the 3 connectors to the center Air Bag sensor assembly before ensuring that the waterproof sheet is appropriately installed. The installation process continues with the console box duct No.1 followed by console box mounting bracket front then console box assembly rear and console upper panel garnish No.2 along with console upper panel garnish No.1 and concluding with console panel sub-assembly upper and console upper rear panel sub-assembly. After inspecting the SRS warning light you must reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal.
