A proper start to servicing the Air Bag Control Module requires complete review of all Supplemental Restraint System safety warnings. The cable connection needs removal from the negative terminal of the battery. The first step requires discontinuation of the console upper rear panel sub-assembly followed by console panel sub-assembly upper and then console upper panel garnish No. 1 and No. 2. Next remove the console box assembly rear then the mounting bracket of the front component. Remove the console box duct No. 1 after performing the preceding steps. Detaching the 3 connectors from the center Air Bag sensor assembly enables removal of the 3 bolts and extraction of the center Air Bag sensor assembly.

The service of the Air Bag Control Module requires careful reading of all Supplemental Restraint System safety precautions. Follow any necessary precautions by disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable. Starting with the console upper rear panel sub-assembly removal you must continue with the console panel sub-assembly upper procedure and subsequently remove the console upper panel garnish No. 1 and No. 2. The service requires removal of the console box assembly rear before you take off the console box mounting bracket front. Unfasten the console box duct No. 1 from the system. The procedure concludes by disassembling the 3 connectors from the center Air Bag sensor assembly before removing its 3 securing bolts.

Ensure the ignition switch is off and the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected, waiting at least 90 seconds after disconnection before proceeding.

Reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal and inspect the SRS warning light for proper function.

Disconnect the connector of the airbag sensor rear LH and remove the 2 nuts to take out the airbag sensor rear LH.

Observe Air Bag Systems service precautions and disconnect the battery negative terminal.

Observe the Air Bag Systems service precautions.

Remove the front seat outer belt assembly and the side airbag sensor LH by taking off the 2 nuts and disconnecting the connector.
