2007 Scion tC Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and reinstall the Front Passenger Air Bag Assembly on 2007 Scion tC?
A: The process of taking out the Front Passenger Air Bag Assembly starts with disconnecting the negative battery cable terminal's cable then waiting minimum 90 seconds so Air Bags along with seat belt pretensioners do not activate. The first step to replace this Air Bag involves removing the glove compartment door assembly before disconnecting the Air Bag connector while protecting the Air Bag wire harness. The instrument panel sub-assembly upper and its clip and connectors need to be removed before taking out the instrument panel wire assembly. Start by removing the two screws then use slight front-side Air Bag door deflection to free it from its hook before rolling the front passenger Air Bag assembly in a back direction. To finish the disassembly process empty the rear side Air Bag door hook before taking the component. The front passenger Air Bag assembly should be placed back with 2 screws in position while connecting connectors to the Air Bag before installing the clip and reattaching the instrument panel sub-assembly upper. Meld the Air Bag connector while being sure to avoid any damage to the wire harness before fixing the glove compartment door assembly. After putting back the negative battery cable you need to initialize specific systems before checking for the SRS warning lamp.
