2006 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the front wheel speed sensor on 2006 Toyota Sienna?
A: The service and repair of front wheel speed sensors begins with removing the front wheel alongside the front fender liner from the left-hand side. The speed sensor connector needs detachment before the sensor harness and clamp can be taken off from the body while eaming bolts allow for securement of the harness to the shock absorber and body. Pick the bolt along with both the front left speed sensor while maintaining the sensor tip secure. When installing the front left speed sensor attach it with the bolt and apply 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) torque while maintaining the sensor tip position. Use a torque wrench for installation of bolts A and B where a torque value of 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) fits bolt A while bolt B requires a torque of 19 N.m (192 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf) when firmly attaching the sensor harness clamps to the body and shock absorber. During this step, avoid twisting the sensor wire while performing the installation. The clamp should connect to the knuckle and the sensor harness must install with the clamp to the body while reattaching the speed sensor connector. Reinstall the front fender liner to the left-hand assembly before returning the front wheel and tightening it to 103 N.m (1,050 kgf.cm, 76 ft.lbf) and inspecting the ABS speed sensor signal.
