    A: The first step for servicing or repairing the engine rear oil seal involves removing the automatic transaxle assembly while keeping in mind that transaxle installation becomes simpler after engine assembly separation. Intersection of these steps starts with crankshaft coupling using tools 09213-54015 (91651-60855) and 09330-00021 for fixing the crankshaft before removing eight bolts and the rear spacer and drive plate along with front spacer and ring gear sub-assembly. The installation of the engine rear oil seal involves cutting the oil seal lip with a knife followed by removal with a taped screwdriver tip. You must inspect the crankshaft for any damage before finishing each uneven surface with 400-grit sandpaper. A new oil seal requires application of MP grease to its lip before installation according to the following process: clean the lip from all foreign material then use special service tool: 09223-15030, 09950-70010 (09951-07100) along with a hammer to tap the oil seal until it reaches the rear oil seal retainer edge before wiping off excess grease from the crankshaft. The drive plate and ring gear sub-assembly should be reinstalled by using special service tool: 09213-54015 (91651-60855), 09330-00021 to fix the crankshaft while cleaning the bolt and bolt hole and applying adhesive (Part No. 08833-00070, three bond or equivalent) to the first 2 or 3 bolt threads before installing the 8 bolts in order and uniformly torquing them to 98 Nm (1,000 kgf-cm, 72 ft. lbs.). The automatic transaxle assembly should be installed as the final step of the repair.
