2006 Toyota Corolla Wheel Hub Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the rear Wheel Hub and bearing assembly on the LH side on 2006 Toyota Corolla?
A: The service and repair process for the rear wheel hub and bearing assembly on the LH side begins by detaching the rear wheel. The rear disc brake caliper assembly LH needs to be separated through removal of its 2 bolts. In cases where present remove both the rear disc and its accompanying rear brake drum sub-assembly. Start service and repair of the rear wheel hub by removing the skid control sensor wire before undoing the 4 bolts of the rear wheel hub and bearing assembly LH. Attach the new LH side hub and bearing assembly to its position with the 4 mounting bolts and torque them to 61 Nm (622 kgf-cm, 45 ft. lbs.). You should reconnect the skid control sensor wire without creating any twisting. Check the bearing in the wheel hub for both looseness and runout defects. You should first attach the rear brake drum sub-assembly before fitting the rear disc. The rear disc brake caliper assembly LH requires installation with 2 bolts that need to be torqued to 47 Nm (480 kgf-cm, 34 ft. lbs.). After installing the rear wheel you should check the ABS speed sensor signal while ensuring a torque of 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.).
