2006 Toyota Corolla Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Service and Repair the Front Wheel Speed Sensor on 2006 Toyota Corolla?
A: The first step to replace the Front Wheel Speed Sensor (SPEED SENSOR FRONT LH) requires front wheel and front fender liner LH removal. The clamp should be disengaged first before removing the connector from the speed sensor front LH. Open the front wheel speed sensor front LH by removing 2 bolts which separate it from the body and shock absorber until you can remove the bolt and sensor while ensuring no foreign material attaches to the tip. The speed sensor front LH requires its installation bolt that should be tightened with 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.) before ensuring no objects adhere to the sensor tip. The speed sensor front installation requires 2 bolts which must be tightened with Bolt A at 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.) and Bolt B at 29 Nm (296 kgf-cm, 21 ft. lbs.). Connect the connector after clamping it in place, reinstall the front fender liner LH with the front wheel while torquing the wheel to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.). To complete the procedure examine the ABS speed sensor signal.
