2007 Toyota Corolla Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the front wheel speed sensor on 2007 Toyota Corolla?
A: The front wheel speed sensor service and repair process requires first removing the front wheel together with the front fender liner on the left-hand side. Service the front left speed sensor by first removing its wire harness clamp connection from body then disconnecting the sensor connector and unbolting the harness from body and shock absorber before extracting the bolt and sensor itself. The sensor tip must stay clean at all times during this operation. Attach the front left speed sensor by screwing its bolt and applying 8.0 N.m torque (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) while keeping the sensor tip free from contamination. Install the sensor harness clamp by torquing Bolt A to 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) and Bolt B to 29 N.m (296 kgf.cm, 21 ft.lbf). After that, apply the speed sensor connector and affix the wire harness clamp to the body. Reinstall the left-hand front fender liner then secure the front wheel by torquing the components to 103 N.m (1,050 kgf.cm, 76 ft.lbf). Check the ABS speed sensor signal which needs to function with both ABS and VSC systems.
