2005 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the FRONT CONTROL ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER NO.1 LH on 2005 Toyota Camry?
A: The first step to replace the FRONT SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER NO.1 LH requires complete engine assembly and transaxle removal. The procedure for A/T transaxle requires removal of the 3 nuts together with the transverse engine mounting insulator. Start by taking off three nuts and the transverse engine mounting insulator for both M/T transaxle models. Then proceed to disconnect the four bolts and bracket holding the manual transmission. Start by removing the front suspension arm sub-assembly lower No. 1 LH through the front side bolts and rear side bolt followed by nut combination. Detach the front suspension arm sub-assembly lower No. 1 LH and the front lower arm bush stopper. The installation of the new front suspension arm sub-assembly lower No. 1 LH requires first mounting the front lower arm bush stopper and using 2 torques on front bolts to 200 Nm (2,039 kgf-cm, 148 ft. lbs.) and a torque on one rear bolt and nut to 206 Nm (2,101 kgf-cm, 152 ft. lbs.). To install the transverse engine mounting insulator on A/T transaxles secure the 3 nuts with 87 Nm (887 kgf-cm, 64 ft. lbs.) torque and for M/T transaxles attach it with the 4 bolts at 64 Nm (653 kgf-cm, 47 ft. lbs.) before tightening the 3 nuts to 87 Nm (887 kgf-cm, 64 ft. lbs.). The installation sequence includes placing the engine assembly with transaxle as the final step.
