Q: How to replace the Rear Left Air Bag Sensor on 2005 Toyota 4Runner?
A: Before replacing the Rear Left Air Bag Sensor the Air Bag Systems service precautions should be followed according to the instructions. Begin by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery before removing the tonneau cover retractor sub-assembly, deck board assembly, rear floor mat support plate rear and deck floor box LH. Begin by detaching the rear door opening trim Weather Strip on the left side along with the lap belt outer anchor cover rear No.1 seat and both the deck trim side board UPR LH and deck side trim cover LH. Begin by disconnecting the connector of the Air Bag sensor rear LH before removing its 2 nuts to extract the part. The new Air Bag sensor rear LH should be fastened with two 17.5 N.m (178 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) torqued nuts before reconnecting its sensor connector. Begin by installing the connector after position the sensor assembly while verifying correct torques of the sensor assembly components. Replace the sensor assembly with a new one if it experienced any dropping incident or reveals cracks or dents or fails in quality tests. The SRS wiring needs to be placed in such a manner that it avoids contact with other components while being installed and subsequently the sensor assembly needs to be shaken for checking loose connections. Check both the air bag sensor rear LH and the SRS warning light during the conclusion of the inspection process.
