2004 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Front Wheel Speed Sensor (SPEED SENSOR FRONT LH) on 2004 Toyota Sienna?
A: The replacement process of Front Wheel Speed Sensor (SPEED SENSOR FRONT LH) begins by removing both the front wheel and front fender liner LH. First disconnect the speed sensor connector then delete the sensor harness plus clamp from the body before removing the two clamp bolts holding the sensor harness and clamp in position between the body and shock absorber. You must remove the bolt first and then the speed sensor front LH keeping the sensor tip undamaged. Attach the speed sensor front LH with the bolt and follow installation procedure of torquing the bolt to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.) while maintaining the sensor tip position. Secure bolt A first to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.) on the sensor harness clamp to the body and shock absorber and then install bolt B to 19 Nm (192 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.) on the same clamp taking caution not to twist the sensor wire throughout the installation procedure. The sensor harness and clamp need installation to the body while reconnecting the speed sensor connector after attaching the clamp to the knuckle. The ABS speed sensor signal should be checked after reinstalling the front fender liner LH and front wheel while torquing the wheel to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.).
