2004 Toyota Sienna Speed Sensor Parts Q&A
Q: How to replace the rear left speed sensor on 2004 Toyota Sienna?
A: The 4WD replacement of the rear left speed sensor begins by removing the rear wheel combined with the front left quarter trim panel assembly before disconnecting the speed sensor connector and pulling out the sensor wire harness with grommet followed by unbolting the sensor harness. The speed sensor connector needs removal before pulling the grommetted sensor wire harness. Secure the sensor harness with a clamp bolt to the body. Proceed to uninstall the rear left speed sensor (part number: Speed Sensor Rear LH) together with its bolt. Keep the speed sensor tip free from contaminants during the whole replacement procedure. Use the bolt to install the new rear left speed sensor by torquing it to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.) and clamp the sensor harness bolts to the body at 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.). Insert the sensor wire harness with grommet while carefully pulling the grommet itself instead of the wire. Reinstall the quarter trim panel assembly front left and then secure the rear wheel by tightening it to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.). Complete the check of the ABS speed sensor signal.
