How to replace the Upper Control Arm ASSY on 2004 Toyota 4Runner?

The first step in upper control arm assy replacement starts with removing the rear wheel followed by disconnecting the height control sensor link sub-assy rear component (having air suspension technology). First unfasten the Upper Control Arm ASSY by disconnecting its nut that also carries a washer and bolt from the rear axle housing before removing the nut while maintaining the bolt position. The procedure to remove upper control arm assembly should be repeated by taking out its nut and washer and bolt. The installation process requires upper control arm positioning followed by nut and washer and bolt temporary fastening according to the air suspension illustration. Install the rear axle housing while fastening the nut, washer and bolt but only tighten them enough. Install the rear wheel by tightening the sum of 112 Nm (1,137 kgf-cm, 83 ft. lbs.) onto the Height Control Sensor Link Sub-ASSY Rear (with air suspension). Provide suspension stability then you should complete Upper Control Arm ASSY tightening by applying 80 Nm force (816 kgf-cm, 59 ft. lbs.) to the two nuts when you turn and fix the nut into position on the bolt.
