2003 Toyota Camry Control Arm Parts Q&A
Q: How to replace the No.2 LH Control Arm on 2003 Toyota Camry?
A: The first step to replace No.2 LH suspension arm is to remove the rear wheel together with the exhaust pipe assembly center and the rear stabilizer bar. Detach both rear suspension arm assembly No.1 LH and No.1 RH through the standard protocol which must be applied identically on each side. Proceed with breaking the rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH and No.2 RH while applying identical methods that worked on the RH side. Finally you should remove the rear suspension member sub-assembly after splitting off the rear strut rod assembly. Detach the rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH from its inner side through bolt removal to access the bolt, nut and outer part of the rear suspension arm No.2 which needs removal from the rear axle carrier maintaining constant pressure on the nut when loosening the bolt. The rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH gets installed by first securing it on the inner side with a bolt for temporary tightness before correctly positioning the part per illustration to achieve full bolt torque of 100 Nm (1,020 kgf-cm, 74 ft. lbs.). First install the rear suspension member sub-assembly followed by temporary tightening of the rear suspension arm assemblies No.1 LH, No.1 RH, No.2 LH, and No.2 RH together with the rear strut rod assembly. Install the rear stabilizer bar followed by suspension stabilization then completely tighten all four rear suspension arm assemblies No.1 LH, No.1 RH, No.2 LH, and No.2 RH as well as the rear strut rod assembly. Conclude your work by attaching the exhaust pipe assembly center along with the rear wheel before torquing the wheel to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.) values and checking rear wheel position alignment.
