How to replace the Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 1 on 2002 Toyota Highlander?

Start the replacement of the Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 1 by first removing the instrument panel finish panel sub-assy lower and instrument pnl insert sub-assy lwr LH as well as the front door scuff plate LH and cowl side trim sub-assy LH and front floor footrest. The parking brake cable assy No. 1 separation from the parking brake pedal assy starts with releasing the parking brake pedal followed by removing its clip from the parking brake assembly. Disassemble the parking brake cable assy No. 1 from the parking brake equalizer by removing its nut. After that detach the tire and wheel then turn up the floor carpet to remove the 2 bolts securing the parking brake cable assy No. 1 to the body. To install the component position the parking brake cable assy No. 1 onto the body through two 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.) torqued nuts after connecting it to the parking brake pedal assembly and installing the clip. The parking brake equalizer gets its connection with the parking brake cable assy No. 1 through insertion of the locking nut which requires 12.5 Nm (128 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) torque. Reinstallation of the front floor footrest and cowl side trim sub-assy LH and front door scuff plate LH along with instrument pnl insert sub-assy lwr LH and instrument panel finish panel sub-assy lower must be followed by adjusting the parking brake pedal travel.
