Drive out the 2 pins and detach the 2 attachments using a pin punch and hammer. The axle hub assembly must go into a soft jaw vise with caution because replacing it will be necessary if the assembly sustains any significant impact or drops to the floor. The removal of the ABS speed sensor requires Special Service Tools: 09520-00031 (09520-00040, 09521-00020), 09950-00020 and 2 bolts (12 mm diameter and 1.5 mm pitch) to securely separate the regulator while maintaining sensor rotor cleanliness for correct straight sensor removal. The axle hub assembly requires replacement if the sensor rotor shows damage since this will also damage the contacting surface of both components. Upon assembling the sensor prepare the contacting surfaces of the axle hub and new ABS speed sensor before positioning them together at the bottom of the hub when on the vehicle. The required special service tool: 09214-76011 and a press must be used to install the new ABS speed sensor by avoiding direct hammer taps and inspecting for detection portion contamination as well as installing it at a straight angle and at a slow pace.
