The beginning of installing the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring requires checking that front wheels point directly forward. Before insertion place the turn signal switch in a neutral position because incorrect alignment can break the pin. The installation requires use of 4 screws to attach the clock spring sub-assembly while detachment of the lock pin is necessary when adding a new component and the Air Bag needs to be connected. Use three screws to fasten the steering column cover. Unplug the battery negative terminal first and switch off the ignition. Give it 90 seconds before starting installation. Manual clockwise rotation of the cable until the first sign of resistance is felt and following that with turning counterclockwise to match the reference marks while understanding that the section extending around the center point is near 2.5 turns. Use the claw mechanism to put on the upper steering column cover before locking onto the 2 claws which you must secure the lower column cover with 2 screws. Begin installation by attaching the
Steering Wheel assembly followed by installing the steering pad after which you should place the No.3 and No.2 lower steering wheel covers. Attach the cable to the negative battery terminal and tighten it to 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf) while inspecting the horn button assembly with the SRS warning light verification.
