Toyota Land Cruiser Differential Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the front differential carrier assembly on Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The front differential carrier assembly installation requires first installing the differential support assembly with bolts E and F at a torque value of 100 Nm (1020 kgf-cm, 74 ft-lbf). Curve the front differential carrier assembly into position with a jack and secure both bolts A and B along with the nut temporarily for installation. The installation process demands a temporary bolt insertion of C and D first followed by a 120 Nm (1224 kgf-cm, 89 ft-lbf) torque on bolt A, then B and the corresponding nut until they reach the same torque value. Bringing together the front differential union and breather tube and tighten bolts C and D to 120 Nm (1224 kgf-cm, 89 ft-lbf) completes the installation process. Begin the installation of the front suspension rebound stopper sub-assembly LH using 3 bolts torqued to 58 Nm (591 kgf-cm, 43 ft-lbf) and accomplish the same bolt configuration and torque level when installing the front suspension rebound stopper sub-assembly RH. The installation of front Drive Shaft assembly LH should follow the specified procedure while repeating the procedure for the front drive shaft assembly RH. Complete front propeller shaft assembly installation through proper procedures which have been designated as standard.
