The service procedure for the Air Bag Control Module requires complete review of all warnings. Disconnect the black cable from the negative terminal of the battery until it remains stopped for at least 90 seconds to stop the Air Bag activation. First remove the instrument panel garnish starting from the left-hand side before proceeding to the right-hand side. Both manual transmission and 4WD configuration need the removal of the shift lever knob sub-assembly after separating the integration control and panel assembly. Change the order and remove the parking brake hole cover sub-assembly followed by the console upper rear panel sub-assembly together with the box bottom mat and the front console box. After that, remove both the console upper panel No.1 garnish and instrument lower cover sub-assembly. The disconnect procedure of the holder with connectors from the center Air Bag sensor assembly must be followed prior to bolt removal of the center Air Bag sensor assembly.
