  The first step for Canister Purge Valve servicing demands cable disconnection from the negative battery terminal while waiting for at least 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The service of Canister Purge Valve begins by working on the air cleaner cap through disconnecting the MAF meter connector, purge VSV connector and wire harness clamps from the air cleaner cap followed by removal of the two purge line hoses and the purge line hose from the hose clamp. You should unlock the two clamps which hold the air cleaner cap to the air cleaner case. This step needs to be followed by loosening the hose clamp to remove the air cleaner cap. Then detach both the screw and the purge VSV from its position. First install the purge VSV by using the screw. You must first tighten the hose clamp followed by installing the air cleaner cap and then locking the clamps holding the cap to the case before linking the hose clamp to the purge line and connecting the hoses and clamps to their proper places and finally connecting the cables to the terminal and the VSV connector.
